May 2025 Transits
Below you’ll find my new Astro Calendar followed by some insights into this month. For personal horoscopes based on your own birth chart and timing you can book with me here (as soon as my books open again).
Planets as Time-Lords:
Each zodiac sign has a ruling planet, and when a sign becomes activated (using sign-based techniques), that planet then becomes a lord for the highlighted period. By analyzing planetary conditions along with timing techniques, these lords help determine which transiting planets carry greater impact, whether their effects are favorable or challenging, and how they are likely to assert themselves according to the root / birth chart. It’s important to note that transits do not affect everyone in the same way. This is why anchoring transits to the birth chart is essential for better astrological analysis.
The Highlights:
5/10 - Mercury enters Taurus
5/12 - Full Moon in Scorpio
5/20 - Sun enters Gemini
5/24 - Saturn enters Aries
5/25 - Mercury enters Gemini
5/26 - New Moon in Gemini
5/29 - Sun conjunct Mercury (Cazimi)
The Rundown:
I usually write a monthly rundown to get a sense of the transits ahead for myself, but I think the Astro Calendar will suffice this time around. Honestly, with all the variables involved in the personal side of predictive astrology, I find it difficult to offer generalizations that might not apply broadly or meaningfully. In the past, I’ve tried to maintain an objective lens by just highlighting the month’s major shifts, but I feel the Astro Calendar already does a solid job of that on its own, primarily for those who practice.
However, one thing that does stand out this month is the duration of void of course Moon periods. Unlike the ones in previous months that dragged on for nearly entire days, these month’s will move much quicker. That means fewer chances of making plans on shaky grounds, fewer cancellations, delays, or those seemingly random drops in interest or “mood”—especially for those with prominent Cancer placements.
Out of all the planetary ingresses this month, Saturn’s move into its fall (Aries) catches my attention the most. Saturn hasn’t been there since 1996-1998 (upcoming Saturn return for anyone born around those years), and given how much it's stirred up in Pisces these past years, its shift into Aries is likely to stand out due its dignity there—especially for those with Cancer and Capricorn placements soon to square it, or those it conjoins in Aries or opposes in Libra. Just remember that Saturn is the slowest moving planet so its influence may not be noticeable in immediate ways. Like I mentioned previously, the personal impact depends on the root (the nativity) so it’s hard to generalize how this will play out without a look at individual charts.
As for the most active planet this month, Mercury takes the cake. Those with Mercury as a current time-lord are likely to feel the most movement. If that’s not you, you can still check the houses Mercury rules and passes through in your chart to get a sense of what areas of life might be stirred up.
On a different note, I’m still not quite ready to open my books back up. The wheel has kept me busy; I've been dealing with life, learning, creating, and just haven’t had the bandwidth to offer official services at the moment. However, I have been doing impromptu live readings on TikTok as an outlet for practice so if that is something you'd be interested in, feel free to submit your chart info under the “TikTok Live” option in my “Services” section, give me a follow @alchemicmind, and turn on live notifications so that you catch me when I hop on.
If you need an in depth reading from me for any reason, feel free to shoot me an email and we can work something out—but my scheduling option will likely remain offline for now. In any case, may the month of May be in your favor! :)
